Landslides and Flooding in Kerala Kill 14 and Displace Thousands

Severe monsoon rains triggered catastrophic landslides and flooding across Kerala, India, on August 2nd and 3rd. At least 14 people have been confirmed dead, primarily in the Wayanad and Idukki districts. State authorities have evacuated approximately 7,700 people to 275 relief camps as search and rescue operations continue. The landslides have destroyed critical bridge infrastructure, complicating efforts to reach isolated communities in the hilly terrain.
