WarHeatMap.app ("WAR 3.0," "we," "us," or "our") operates as a free, publicly accessible open-source intelligence (OSINT) aggregation and conflict visualization platform at warheatmap.app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, your rights under applicable law, and how to contact us. By using our platform, you agree to the practices described herein.
We are committed to full compliance with: the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by CPRA, including 2026 CPPA enforcement regulations; the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); applicable US state privacy laws (Virginia VCDPA, Colorado CPA, Texas TDPSA, Connecticut CTDPA, and others); and all other applicable international data protection frameworks.
WAR 3.0 does not require account creation, registration, login, or submission of personal information to access any core feature of the platform. The platform is designed to be fully accessible without personal data disclosure.

If you voluntarily enable browser push notifications, your browser generates a push subscription token stored locally in your browser. We do not associate this token with any personal identity. You may revoke this permission at any time via your browser settings, with immediate effect.
We use only essential session-based storage (no persistent tracking cookies) to maintain your filter preferences and map state locally on your device. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or third-party behavioral tracking. No cookie consent banner is required because we do not deploy non-essential cookies.

Under California law, you have the right to: know what personal information is collected about you; delete personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share); limit use of sensitive personal information (we collect none); and non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

If you are located in the EU, EEA, or United Kingdom, you have rights under GDPR including: access, rectification, erasure ("right to be forgotten"), restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Our lawful basis for processing the limited technical data described above is legitimate interest (platform security and abuse prevention). We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, infrastructure-level security controls, and regular security assessments. No system is 100% secure; in the event of a data breach affecting personal information, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by applicable law within the legally mandated timeframes (72 hours under GDPR; as required under applicable US state laws).
WAR 3.0 is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact us immediately at legal@warheatmap.app and we will delete it promptly. Users in the EU must be at least 16 (or the applicable Member State minimum age) to use the platform.
Our platform is hosted in the United States. If you access our platform from outside the United States, your connection data may be processed in the US. For EU/EEA users, this transfer occurs under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent transfer mechanisms as required under GDPR Chapter V.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. Material changes will be prominently noted on the platform.
