Sudan: RSF attack on Um Arada forces hundreds of families to flee to El Obeid
On August 14, 2026, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched an assault on the town of Um Arada in North Kordofan, Sudan. The brutal attack killed at least 18 civilians and wounded 17 others. Fleeing the violence, approximately 300 families—an estimated 1,500 people—were forced to evacuate on foot toward the state capital of El Obeid, seeking safety in designated displacement camps.
