Israel Conducts Precision Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon Citing Truce Breach
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched precision airstrikes against Hezbollah targets in the Mansouri area of southern Lebanon on August 5. Israeli military officials characterized the operation as a response to a blatant violation of the existing ceasefire by Hezbollah. Residents in the targeted areas were warned to evacuate prior to the strikes. This escalation follows a period of heightened verbal tension between the Lebanese government and Hezbollah regarding negotiations in Italy.
