Drone Strikes and Clashes Displace Civilians in North Kordofan

Intensified hostilities and a wave of drone strikes in and around the commercial hub of El Obeid forced a new wave of civilians to flee. Save the Children reported on July 7, 2026, that 11,000 people—including more than 5,500 children—were newly displaced by the violence. The strikes severely damaged local infrastructure, prompting acute shortages of water and fuel.
