Myanmar Junta Airstrikes Hit IDP Sites in Demoso Township

On June 19, 2026, the Myanmar military junta intensified its aerial bombardment campaign by deliberately targeting civilian refuge areas in Kayah State. According to Progressive Voice Myanmar, military aircraft dropped nearly 30 bombs on internally displaced persons (IDP) sites in Demoso Township. The intense bombardment resulted in the secondary displacement of approximately 500 vulnerable civilians who were forced to flee the camps into surrounding forests to escape the sustained aerial terror.
