An alarming escalation of armed violence driven by gang territory seizures struck the Cité Soleil neighborhood in the Port-au-Prince metropolitan area. Initial tracking by the IOM and OCHA confirmed that more than 5,300 people fled their homes to seek shelter in temporary sites or with host communities as combat heavily isolated life-saving healthcare infrastructure.
