Ukraine Conducts Major Drone Strike on Russian Port of Primorsk
Ukrainian forces launched a large-scale long-range strike campaign on May 3, 2024, targeting the Russian port of Primorsk in Leningrad Oblast. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the attack successfully struck a Karakurt-class small missile ship equipped with Kalibr cruise missiles, along with a patrol boat and a shadow fleet oil tanker. Local Russian authorities claimed to have downed over 60 drones, but acknowledged fires near the port. The strikes significantly damaged oil loading infrastructure, aimed at disrupting Russian oil revenue exports.
