Sudan Rebel and Political Factions Agree to Broaden Peace Talks
Sudan's Popular Congress Party (PCP) and the Sudan Liberation Movement faction led by Abdel Wahid al-Nur (SLM-AW) have agreed to broaden negotiations aimed at ending the civil conflict. In meetings in Addis Ababa, the groups called for an inclusive, intra-Sudanese process for a durable settlement, while explicitly excluding the National Congress Party of the ousted Omar al-Bashir. The factions are advancing a draft declaration to build an inclusive civilian platform to help stop the fighting.
