Fighting in West Darfur Displaces 18,000 to Chad
Intense fighting in the Sirba locality of West Darfur displaced approximately 18,000 people from more than 20 villages during the first half of August. The UN migration agency (IOM) reported that the majority of these newly displaced individuals fled across the border into neighboring Chad to escape the violence.
