Myanmar Regime Airstrike on Mawchi Mining Hub Kills Six Civilians
Two Myanmar junta fighter jets bombed the Kyauk Kyar neighborhood in the tungsten mining hub of Mawchi, Karenni (Kayah) State, on Tuesday afternoon. The strike killed six civilians, including two children, and injured nine others, with three in critical condition. Resistance officials stated there was no active fighting in the area at the time. Mawchi has been under Karenni resistance control since late 2024 and remains a vital economic target for the military regime.
