SPLM-N Rebels Kill 27 Civilians in South Kordofan Attacks
The Sudan Doctors Network reported on August 26 that fighters from the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), a group aligned with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), killed 27 people, including four children, in the villages of Qardud and Abu Hamama. The ethnic-based attacks against the Otoro tribe triggered a large displacement wave toward Kadugli and Abu Hitan. The SPLM-N leadership later claimed to have restored control in Kauda while denying the specific massacre allegations despite eyewitness reports.
