SPLM-N Forces Retake Stronghold Kauda Amid Reports of Ethnic Massacres
The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by Abdel Aziz al-Hilu, re-established control over its stronghold in Kauda, South Kordofan, following internal mutinies. The takeover coincided with reports from the Sudan Doctors Network that at least 27 civilians, including four children from the Otoro tribe, were killed during clashes. The SPLM-N leadership denied executing civilians, attributing the violence to inter-communal land disputes, while the RSF has called for a regional ceasefire among the warring factions.
