Ongoing violence in West Darfur forces 18,000 to flee
Intensified fighting and violence across West Darfur displaced nearly 18,000 people during the first half of August 2026. The IOM reported that these mass movements reflect the continued deterioration of security in the region amid the ongoing conflict between the SAF and RSF.
