US Proposes Expanding UN Arms Embargo to All of Sudan
The United States formally proposed to the UN Security Council on August 25 that the existing arms embargo on Darfur be expanded to cover the entire territory of Sudan. The move aims to curb the flow of weapons to both the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as drone strikes and atrocities against civilians intensify across the country.
