Myanmar Military Airstrike on Sagaing Monastery Kills 14 Meditators
The Myanmar military conducted a targeted airstrike on a Buddhist monastery in the central Sagaing region during a civilian meditation retreat. The strike killed at least 14 people, primarily elderly participants, and destroyed parts of the religious complex. Local resistance groups and rescue workers reported the incident as part of an intensified aerial offensive following Junta leader Min Aung Hlaing’s transition to the presidency of a nominally civilian "rebranded" government earlier this year.
