Haiti Initiates Training for 15,000 Soldiers to Combat Gang Insurgency
The Haitian Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with international partners including France, has launched a large-scale training program for 15,000 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H). The initiative aims to bolster national security forces against the pervasive gang violence that has displaced over 1.5 million people. The OAS has urged for accelerated action on security to stabilize the country ahead of proposed general elections, as gang attacks continue to threaten critical infrastructure.
