Taiwan Detects Heightened Chinese Military Presence and Median Line Incursion
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defence reported a significant increase in Chinese military activity around the island on August 19. A total of 20 People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft, seven naval vessels, and six official ships were detected. One aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, entering the northern Air Defence Identification Zone. Taiwan's military monitored the situation and deployed assets in response to the continued grey-zone pressure from Beijing.
