Myanmar military deploys paraglider airstrikes against Rakhine civilians
A United Nations investigation and reports from the Arakan Army confirm the Burmese military is utilizing motorized paragliders and gyrocopters to conduct silent, low-altitude airstrikes. At least 20 civilians have been killed in Rakhine state by these tactics so far in August. The military reportedly uses "double-tap" strikes, targeting first responders after initial hits on homes and schools. These low-cost aerial platforms allow pilots to glide silently toward targets, leaving civilians with virtually no time to flee.
