Myanmar Air Force Strikes Sagaing Mining Site Killing Four Civilians
At least four civilians were killed and four others remain missing after Myanmar military airstrikes targeted gold mining sites in Pinlebu Township on August 18, 2026. The strikes in Maing Tone Tar Gyi village are part of an intensified aerial campaign following a major intelligence leak regarding resistance positions. Recent junta raids have also targeted medical infrastructure, including the Mansi and Kinpan village hospitals. The military's reliance on aerial bombardment has escalated since the National Unity Government took administration of the region.
