Over 5,000 flee Blue Nile state following RSF capture of Geissan
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and SPLM-N have seized the strategic border town of Geissan in Blue Nile state, forcing over 5,000 civilians to flee toward the state capital, Ed Damazin. Displacement has been severely complicated by heavy seasonal rains and rising floodwaters, forcing many to flee by boat. Medics report severe shortages of food and medicine for the arriving displaced populations as the humanitarian crisis in the region deepens following the town's fall.
