Ukrainian drones strike strategic Sverdlov explosives plant in Nizhny Novgorod
Ukrainian long-range drones struck the Sverdlov explosives factory in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, during the early hours of August 19. The facility, a critical component of Russia’s military-industrial complex and one of the country’s largest explosive producers, suffered a massive fire with thick smoke visible across the city. Simultaneously, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that Russian forces suffered 1,190 personnel casualties and lost 50 artillery systems over the previous 24-hour period.
