South Sudan President Offers to Mediate Sudan Civil War Settlement
South Sudanese President Salva Kiir officially offered to mediate a peaceful settlement between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The proposal follows a meeting with the Governor of Darfur in Juba. While the RSF has recently made gains in the Blue Nile region and near the Ethiopian border, Kiir emphasized the need for regional stability. This diplomatic initiative comes as the humanitarian crisis in Sudan reaches unprecedented levels of displacement.
