Pakistan Eliminates 17 Militants in Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Operations
In two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) on August 16-17, 2026, Pakistani security forces killed 17 militants in Balochistan. The first engagement in the Shor Barood area of Khuzdar resulted in 10 fatalities, while a second strike in Kharan's Lajay area neutralized seven TTP (Fitna al-Khawarij) members. The operations were part of "Radd-ul-Fitna-3," targeting groups involved in recent kidnappings and IED attacks on railway tracks. A large cache of modern weapons and two vehicles were seized during the raids.
