Clashes in West Darfur's Sirba Locality Displace 18,000
Ongoing ground battles between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in the Sirba locality of West Darfur displaced approximately 18,000 people from more than 20 villages during the first week of August 2026. According to the UN migration agency (IOM), the majority of these newly displaced civilians fled across the border into neighboring Chad.
