The United Arab Emirates reported that two oil tankers operated by the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) were targeted by drone strikes late Thursday and early Friday while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The vessels suffered minor hull damage, but no injuries were reported among the crew. The UAE Foreign Ministry labeled the incident an act of piracy by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. The attack occurred amid a severe disruption of maritime traffic, which has dropped to 17% of pre-war levels.
