Myanmar junta airstrike kills eight family members in southern Rakhine State
A Myanmar military airstrike targeted the town of Kyeintali in southern Rakhine State late Thursday night, hitting a residential home while the inhabitants were asleep. All eight family members inside were killed in the blast. The strike is part of an intensifying aerial campaign by the junta to maintain control against ethnic resistance forces. The UN’s Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) recently warned of a "double-tap" tactic used by the military to target rescuers.
