Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) carried out an overnight targeted operation in the Maxaas district of Hiiraan. Supported by international partners, the raid hit a house sheltering senior Al-Shabaab members responsible for planning regional attacks. NISA reported heavy casualties among the militants and the disruption of local command networks. This operation follows a string of successful intelligence-led strikes in central Somalia aimed at degrading the group's leadership ahead of proposed security transitions later this year.
