Taiwan Tracks Eight Chinese Naval Vessels and Six Military Aircraft Near Coast
Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense reported the detection of eight People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) vessels and six military aircraft operating in the vicinity of the island over a 24-hour period ending August 12. The ministry stated that several aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, entering the northern and southwestern air defense identification zones. In response, Taiwan deployed its own naval ships and land-based missile systems to monitor the activity.
