Myanmar Military Airstrike Kills 12 Civilians in Thandwe Township
A Myanmar military airstrike targeted Kyaukgyi village in Thandwe Township, Rakhine State, killing at least 12 civilians, including women and children. The aerial bombardment involved three 300-pound bombs dropped near the local Dhammarayi Monastery, destroying approximately 20 residential homes. This incident follows a similar strike in Ann Township on August 9 that killed two others. The Arakan Army (AA) alleges the military is deliberately targeting ethnic Rakhine civilians under the pretext of ongoing conflict.
