Mass Graves Discovered in Kurmuk After Sudanese Army Recaptures Town from RSF
Following the Sudanese Armed Forces' (SAF) successful recapture of Kurmuk in the Blue Nile region, local authorities reported the discovery of multiple mass graves on August 9. Concurrently, the SAF and allied Joint Forces repelled a major Rapid Support Forces (RSF) assault in the Bir Sleiba area of West Darfur. The RSF, facing significant battlefield setbacks in North Kordofan, has reportedly launched a new tribal mobilization campaign in Darfur to replenish its ranks as the military pushes westward.
