Sudanese Army repels major RSF assault on strategic Bir Saliba
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and allied "Joint Force" movements successfully repelled a two-pronged assault by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Bir Saliba in West Darfur. The town is a critical logistical node on routes leading to the regional capital, El Geneina. The fighting has triggered significant humanitarian movement, with over 5,100 people fleeing 10 nearby villages into neighboring Chad. This marks the second major RSF attempt to capture the area in one week.
