The Foreign Ministry dismissed the necessity of an ASEAN special envoy, asserting that domestic political processes following recent elections take precedence. This defiance coincides with the 38th anniversary of the 8-8-88 Uprising, which sparked pro-democracy protests across Myanmar and border regions.
