Somalia's elite Danab Special Forces conducted a targeted raid against Al-Shabaab positions in villages near Basro, situated between the Lower and Middle Shabelle regions. The operation, carried out by the 164th Unit of the 16th Danab Brigade on Tuesday, aimed to dismantle staging areas used by the group for regional attacks. Military officials stated the raid is part of an intensified campaign to weaken Al-Qaeda-linked insurgents as African Union peacekeepers begin a phased withdrawal.
