Airstrikes in Mawasi tent camp
On August 2, 2026, an Israeli attack wounded five people and set several tents ablaze in the Mawasi humanitarian zone near Khan Younis. Another strike hit a nearby house in Mawasi, killing a couple and their 9-year-old son. The destruction of shelters and tents forced families already sheltering there to flee once again to find safer locations.
