Israeli strike on displaced Palestinians' tent in Khan Younis
On July 30, 2026, an Israeli helicopter strike targeted a tent belonging to the al-Balawi family near the Faculty area west of Khan Younis, causing widespread panic and displacing civilians who had sought shelter in the area. At least three people, including a child, were killed. According to IDMC methodology for a localized airstrike on a shelter, an estimated 200 people were newly displaced from the immediate vicinity.
