Venezuela Interim Government and Opposition Launch Transition Talks in Caracas

Venezuela's interim government, led by Delcy Rodriguez, and the opposition bloc headed by Dinorah Figuera have agreed to begin in-person transition negotiations in Caracas. The U.S.-backed talks aim to establish a roadmap for future elections and address urgent humanitarian needs following devastating June earthquakes. Jailed former leader Nicolas Maduro expressed support for the dialogue from a New York detention center. However, the exclusion of prominent opposition figure Maria Corina Machado remains a point of contention for many protesters.
