Russian Glide Bomb Strike on Zaporizhzhia Kills One and Wounds Dozens
Russian forces launched a concentrated aerial assault on the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, dropping eight high-explosive glide bombs within a 90-minute window. The strike targeted residential districts, killing a 71-year-old woman and wounding 31 others, including a 16-year-old girl. At least 22 apartment buildings were damaged. In response, President Zelenskyy issued an urgent plea for additional U.S.-made Patriot air defense systems to counter the devastating munitions, which Ukraine currently has no effective countermeasures against.
