Roadside Bomb Kills 8 Puntland Security Personnel in Bari Region
A roadside improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a security convoy in Somalia's Bari region, killing at least eight Puntland soldiers and wounding several others. The attack occurred near Bosaso while Puntland President Said Abdullahi Deni was meeting with U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) officials. While no group has officially claimed responsibility, local authorities suspect either al-Shabaab or the Islamic State affiliate, both of which are active in the nearby Golis Mountains.
