Russia launches massive 181-drone wave across Ukraine
On the night of August 2-3, 2026, Russian forces launched 181 attack drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas models, targeting northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine. Ukrainian Air Defense reported intercepting 163 UAVs using anti-aircraft missiles, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups. Despite the high interception rate, 14 drones struck 13 different locations, damaging civilian infrastructure and vessels in the Mykolaiv region. This escalation represents one of the largest single-night drone deployments in the ongoing four-year conflict.
