Sudanese army drone strike on North Darfur court kills 37
A Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) drone strike targeted a customary court in the Ghurra Zawia area of North Darfur on August 2, 2026. The strike occurred while local tribal leaders and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) field commanders were holding a meeting. Eyewitnesses reported at least 37 fatalities and roughly 40 injuries. The RSF-aligned coalition Tasis condemned the attack, alleging that most victims were civilians and calling for an international investigation into the escalating use of drones in Darfur.
