Ukrainian Drone Campaign Hits Russian Radar Systems and Airbases
The Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces launched a large-scale drone operation on August 2, 2026, targeting eight Russian air defense and radar systems in the Krasnodar region. The strikes hit Tor-M2 and Nebo-type radar installations located over 270 kilometers from the frontline. Additional overnight strikes successfully targeted the Saratov oil refinery and the Engels strategic bomber airbase. Russian officials confirmed that the Ukrainian barrage across multiple regions resulted in at least eight fatalities, including in Belgorod and Saratov.
