Pakistan Reports Deadliest Month of 2026 with 606 Killed in Terrorist Violence
A report released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) on August 1 identified July 2026 as the deadliest month of the year, recording 606 fatalities. This total includes 112 security personnel, the highest monthly losses for forces since early 2023, and 401 militants killed in intensified counter-terrorism operations. Violence was most severe in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where eight suicide attacks and numerous intelligence-based operations took place throughout the month.
