100,000 Civilians Displaced by Fighting in Magway Region
Intense military offensives, village burnings, and forced conscription sweeps by junta forces triggered mass displacement across the Pakokku, Pauk, and Saw townships in the Magway Region. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that these localized offensives newly displaced roughly 100,000 civilians, exacerbating the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation across central and northwestern Myanmar.
