Escalating Violence and Drone Strikes Displace Thousands in El Obeid
Escalating violence, drone strikes, and siege-like conditions in and around El Obeid in North Kordofan forced roughly 11,000 people to flee their homes in mid-July. Save the Children and UN humanitarians reported that intensified hostilities have severely damaged civilian infrastructure and created critical water shortages. Displaced families are seeking refuge in overcrowded camps that are currently battling severe malnutrition and a cholera outbreak.
