Gang Violence Displaces Nearly 1,800 in Artibonite

Heavy armed violence broke out on July 6, 2026, across the municipalities of Dessalines and Petite Rivière in Haiti's Artibonite department. According to the IOM's Displacement Tracking Matrix, the clashes displaced 1,788 individuals (roughly 436 households), with the vast majority seeking shelter with host families in nearby, safer localities like Gonaïves.
