US Airstrikes Target IRGC Facilities in Southern Iran
The U.S. military launched a major wave of airstrikes against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Hormozgan province and Qeshm Island. U.S. Central Command confirmed the strikes targeted coastal surveillance facilities, drone storage sites, and maritime capabilities. The operation was designed to punish Iran for a recent attack in Jordan that killed U.S. troops. Iranian state media reported that the strikes destroyed several bridges and infrastructure near the strategic port of Bandar Abbas, killing eight people.
