Humanitarian Crisis Intensifies in Sudan's El-Obeid as RSF Siege Tightens
The United Nations warned on July 17 that the humanitarian situation in El-Obeid, North Kordofan, is deteriorating rapidly as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) intensify their siege. The World Food Programme reported that the city's population has nearly doubled to over one million due to an influx of internally displaced persons. Limited food supplies and the threat of atrocities similar to those in El-Fasher have left hundreds of thousands of civilians in a precarious state without adequate aid.
