Over 500 Rohingya Refugees Feared Dead in Shipwrecks Off Myanmar Coast
The UN refugee agency (UNHCR) and IOM reported that two boats carrying over 530 Rohingya refugees likely capsized in the Andaman Sea. The vessels had departed from war-torn Rakhine State in late June, and preliminary investigations on July 16 confirm both have sunk, marking one of the deadliest events along this maritime route.
