US Military Launches Third Wave of Airstrikes on Iran Over Hormuz Blockade
US Central Command (CENTCOM) launched a third round of strikes against Iran, hitting 140 Iranian military targets. The strikes utilized precision munitions launched from land- and sea-based aircraft, drones, and naval vessels. Targets included missile and drone sites, naval capabilities, and coastal surveillance in coastal cities such as Bandar Abbas and Sirik. The attack was triggered after the IRGC attacked the Cyprus-flagged M/V GFS Galaxy container ship and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed. Iran's Health Ministry reported 17 dead and 115 wounded over the two days of strikes.
